just a really powerful image. i think all these “kids vs monsters” illustrations are starting to shape the story themselves. i mean, we do need a story soon, but somewhere in that story these two characters will meet and it’ll be special.

NY MOMENT

How many of you have childhood memories of chasing fireflies on a warm summer night? Well now that memory can be recreated at the Whitney Museum.  The adorable, Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama has created an installation, “Fireflies on the Water,” which creates a magical, glowing paradise. The installation consists of a small room with mirrored walls, two inches of water on the floor, a raised platform for a viewer to stand on and 150 colored lights dangling from the ceiling. Only one person is allowed in the room at a time. Once the door closes behind you, it’s like you’re suspended in outer space surrounded by infinite light or “fireflies”. The exhibit will be up until the end of October. For more info, click here

Shwood Glasses at MRket.

I’ve seen wood frames, but none as precise and well crafted as the ones from Shwood.

Why? Because it’s fresh.  A simple and refreshing twist on something classic - glasses.

To sum it up: This is one of those products that say something without being too out there.  A simple twist to an item everyday item.

Quood at MRket Show New York.

Leather items are nothing new, but Quood’s products are simply refreshing.  They have a simplistic approach but with craftsmanship and an artistic eye their product is a must for those who enjoy leather products.

Why? Raw cut without stitches, beautifully crafted.

To sum it up: Very clean lines.  This isn’t something you need, but it’s certainly something you’ll want!
